Connecting Caring
Persons With neighbors in need since 1983.
About
In His Name Ministries --
we do lengthy interviews with approximately two thousand persons each
year. Most of these individuals have critical financial needs. Donations given to our
general fund are used to help many of these families.
Only
about 75 of cases, on average, are put on the web each year.
We present these web cases to inform viewers and give them the chance to
designate who will benefit from their donation. However, this is
only a small part of the overall outreach of this ministry.
After you read stories of need on this web, you may select one
(or more) to help, or send a donation to the ministry that will be used
to help one of the many unpublicized cases.

Oklahoma City
Case 8494pat
Recently moved to Oklahoma from Florida
Fraud Further Hurts
Displaced Family
Fraudulent practices of tradesmen is one reason our clients
suffer. Unscrupulous people take advantage of the weak.
Some persons can make adjustments and move on. But
not everyone. Pat’s dilemma is a case in point.
They moved to Oklahoma from Florida to start a new life.
The man now works for a bottling company. His income puts them right on
the edge of poverty -- meaning there isn't enough to cover all the basic
household needs.
His wife is a stay at home mother, but she may need
to find a part-time job.
They have had no car for a year until someone gave them one recently. It
needed a timing chain. A “disreputable” auto shop required cash up front.
They used a refund check to pay in advance for the repair. And then when
she went to pick it up it wouldn't start and the interior had been
vandalized on their lot. The owner disavowed responsibility for the damage
and said the mechanic was not authorized to take the cash. He had
taken her cash and departed. He had told her he was the owner/mgr. At our
request they plan to file a police report and to inform the District
Attorney’s office.
Be part of God’s answered prayer for Pat.
New cases of need come to our attention daily. We use
general funds to pay all or part of the most pressing client needs. However, there
often is not enough to help all of those we want to. This special
notice allows us to focus on this family’s utility and the auto
repairs. All funds sent to case 8494pat will go toward their needs.1.
| AN ASPECT OF POVERTY IS THE COST OF OPERATING
AND MAINTAINING A CAR WHICH OFTEN UNDERCUTS A MEAGER BUDGET. WE
ADVISE SOME PERSONS TO RIDE THE BUS. FOR SOME CLIENTS, HOWEVER, A CAR
IS VIRTUALLY A NECESSITY. |
OUR MINISTRY TO HER
We willcontinue our conversations with her to encourage her as she
strives to normalize her life.
Please consider helping.
If
