Why Help The Poor

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead." James 2:13-17. .

Colon Cancer

THE BASIC NEED HAS BEEN MET

52 year old single mother with a 12 year-old grandson who lives with her.  She just started Chemo for colon cancer. She has SS Disability $540.00, Food stamps $47.00, DHS $47.00.
Referred by her Advantage Program representative.

She attends a small Church of Christ - they counseled her on how to manage her money, but did not offer to help otherwise.
She reads her Bible most days - watches Daystar TV. Prays daily "all day long." She does listen to God. Said her illness is a blessing from God to get her attention. She said," If He can't get your attention with a hammer, He will hit you with a sledge hammer." She believes the Lord uses such events to reach our hearts.

Our associate prayed with her for

• for others to receive her witness.

Who will come to her financial rescue?
