Oklahoma City Case 9412cha Sick Man Cares For Young Grandchildren
It is difficult to imagine the effect of poverty in some
homes in our country. This grandfather is caring for his
grandson 2 years old, and granddaughter 4 years old. His
daughter in Indiana has cancer and is unable to care for the
children. $580.00 is the total needed to restore service. Others are helping on part of this. OTHER ISSUES He has been out of work 8 months. His mother was helping him until she died 4 months ago. His family was helping but is no longer able. He used most of his savings to bury his mother. HEALTH Heart problems, 50% kidney failure, sleep apnea SPIRITUAL He attends Judith Assembly. When asked, he said he reads the Bible "all of the time, and prays daily." Our interviewer said, "We visited for a long time. He was starving for fellowship. I shared some of my testimony with him . He kept saying, 'I really enjoy talking to you.' I challenged him to trust the Lord. I guess maybe I was a little forward. He told me I really hit him on the head. I told him consider it a love tap. He thought that was funny. Then he said 'I needed that'."
