Connecting Caring Persons With Needy Neighbors.

From an article in Christianity Today

One's Soul Revealed

"Charitable giving is as close as we can get to truly free financial behavior. You are not obligated to give (and lots of people don't). You aren't buying anything you need, like food or transportation or housing, or even anything you enjoy, like vacations or premium cable channels. You get nothing out of giving except the satisfaction of your soul. And so, giving shows something about a person's soul."

Worrisome electrical bill

Large Esophagus Growth

UPDATE - This need has been met.

Medical update - Her condition is greatly improved.

A widow has multiple complications. She is terminally ill - a 20 pound tumor has grown into her esophagus and her spine is deteriorating. She also is diabetic. She's had two heart surgeries.

She receives widow benefits of $940.00. DHS helps with medical expenses. She is on a lot of medication.
She is on a breathing machine and oxygen.
She may loose electrical service.

She is a Christian but hasn't been to church in several years. She prays daily, but is not able to read her Bible because of eyesight problems. Our interviewer prayed with her

  • for healing,

  • for this financial need,

  • for her care provider to be blessed.

$215.12 would stop cut off.  IHNM is paying that amount.  There is still a worrisome overdue amount

The Bible contains more than 300 verses on the poor, social justice, and God's deep concern for them.

Prov. 29:7. The righteous is concerned for the rights of the poor; the wicked does not understand such concern.
