HERE'S someone who needs your help.

Case 8198

Single lady lives alone. She is employed by a hotel but work has been slow. We have not heard from in five years. She is looking for another job while still being employed at her current position. She had go to California about a month ago for her twin brother's funeral. He had an enlarged heart. She called for help on her electric bill of $423.00. She has a letter for a breathing machine, has asthma. Her account has a code on it for this. She has contacted many other helping agencies and no one has been able to help. She told the interviewer that she attends a church but they do not help people financially. She reads her Bible sometimes and she talks with Lord all day long. The interviewer said they had a good visit. She plans to start having a quiet time per his suggestion. He also gave her the address to order Our Daily Bread. She has been distanced from a relative and so he visited with her about continuing to plant seeds of love and trust the Lord to bring forth the increase. He prayed with her for some health issues, for this need, for her relationship with her relative, for fellowship and closer walk with Jesus.

Individuals who need help draw us to know the Father’s voice

We, as children of God are practicing hearing HIS voice….

Is it possible that the guy on the street corner is a PURIFIER for me? Keep an open mind and pray. Might he be an ANGEL? There for you and me? Keep an open mind and pray.

I believe the Holy Spirit wants us to ask “What about that person, Father? Do you want me to help him financially?” Of course we have to block out the thought, “He’s going to buy booze with any cash I give him.” That should not be our focus. JESUS SHOULD BE OUR FOCUS. What do you want Lord ?

Most likely 99% of the time HE would just want us to pray for that person. A blessing sent to God on his behalf, and not a curse for all that he may be doing wrong.

Open ourselves up to the leading of the Holy Spirit

Dee and I were on our way to a conference many years ago in New Orleans. One of the people involved with the conference had offered a room in their home for us to stay in while there.

After a couple hours of driving we stopped at a rest stop for a break. As Dee was heading back to the car he was drawn to a man in his seventies sitting on a bench. The man did not approach us. Dee however made a bee line straight to him instead of our car.

It turned out the man was on his way home to Brownsville, TX and he had car problems in Oklahoma City. He had been to Kansas to visit his sick brother, who had passed away while he was there. He had used all of his money for repairs and didn’t have a credit card. He said, “ I just can’t write a hot check.” He told Dee that he was sitting there in the shade talking to God and praying for a miracle.

Dee and I stepped away from Ben to seek what God might have us do. We had $400.00 cash. The Lord impressed us that we should give Ben $200.00, and some snacks that we had in the car.

Dee prayed with Ben before we left and tears ran down his face as we hugged him goodbye.

The conference seemed to hold nothing for us. There really is no other way to put it. I can’t even remember who the speakers were. I do remember it was called “Holy Spirit Conference.” The thought occurred to us that perhaps the conference was just a way to connect us with Ben. It never dawned on us to ask the Lord if we should turn around and go back home after our encounter with him. Apparently Ben was our “Holy Spirit Conference.” I vividly remember him.

GOD'S WONDERFUL MINORITY

AN EXAMPLE OF A CASE AND HOW THE HOLY SPIRIT USES US TO MINISTER TO THE CLIENTS AND BRING THEM INTO THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD:

Single man lives alone. Lost his job three months ago. He was denied unemployment. He is currently seeking employment. He called for assistance for his electric bill of $175.40. He has a list of contacts from City Rescue Mission. He told the interviewer that he doesn't attend church. He said he is a Nazarene but hasn't been to church in about five years.

He does read his Bible several times a week and talks to God daily. The interviewer said he prayed with him for this need, for a job, for a closer walk with Jesus and Christian fellowship. The interviewer said, “When I finished praying he was crying. I asked if the Lord was speaking to his heart. He said yes. I told him I would let him go so he could spend time with the Lord.“

After praying for this client, the office felt God wanted this need taken care of. IHNM contacted the electric company and paid his bill. The client was contacted and he thanked Jesus for the help. Please pray with us that this man gets back into a fellowship of believers whereby he can be lifted up and encouraged to walk with Jesus and to never be without HIS HOPE.

If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1John 3:16ff

TO BOTTOM

More is required than for us to advise the poor or to talk with them about how Christ can change their lives. As we stand before them, it is our love that testifies to what Christ does.

God has ventured all in Jesus Christ to save us,

now He wants us to venture our all, in abandoned confidence in Him.
