What the Bible Left Out

The many references to kindness to the poor speak only of

  • shelter,

  • food and

  • water.

There were no household utilities then.

Today, normal life in the civilized world requires utilities as well. Yet most church organizations seldom help on these, only groceries.  There is plenty of food in our town, but hundreds despair every day when their OG&E, ONG or the water utility is turned off.

I recall a friend of this ministry a few years ago, after hearing that a widow in Oklahoma City had no water service for more than a year said, "I had no idea that anyone in this city would be without water."

It happens all the time, usually not for that long however.

Pray with us for the churches to participate in this. They are a vast, virtually untapped source. We believe God is waiting. In the meantime help IHNM in their ministry to despairing strangers.
