still
recall pleasant memories of my grandmother who died  thirty
years ago. However, I was surprised recently at the dream in which
she briefly appeared. It was a few days before Christmas; we were
in her tiny living room and she asked me to walk to the mantel over the
false fire place, where she reached for a Christmas card. She opened
it and showed me check made out for $158.00.
A distant relative that had not written in years had sent it to her. As I partially awakened from the dream I thought back about her situation, recalling that she lived on a very limited income. One of her sons regularly helped her. She also sold little gifts from her home that she mail ordered. In the dream she told me that with this money she would be able to buy nicer gifts for the family. I lay there wondering if God was showing me anything. Immediately I realized how many widowed elderly people live in poverty, or on the edge of it. Even a small check in the mail to one of these dear people would be a wonderful blessing. Something God would honor. Sharing with relatives and close friends is a good thing. There are also those who may have no responsible caring friends or relatives. A surprise gift from a stranger would impact her greatly. Dee Stribling Prayer - Father show me someone today to whom I may be a blessing. |
