Abundance
Is More Than Material Wealth

The Abundant Life in Christ. We all acknowledge that he came to give it. But what is it. Jesus said, “I am the Life.” Our abundance is in Him, not in financial prosperity or worldly riches. After being saved by Christ, why would anyone keep focusing of the ‘good things’ of this world? After saying this, I hasten to add that God does prosper some individuals. He gives them the means to acquire money and wealth for His purposes. They bring glory to Him as the money flows freely from their accounts into the hands of ministries, the poor and various works of God. Those who become a reservoir, however, rather than a stream, soon stagnate. They may concoct a jaundiced doctrine to justify their lifestyle. The wealth may continue to come, but their usefulness to God is diminished; so is their witness. Their future treasure in heaven is also diminished, for the treasure there comes from giving to the poor. "He is no fool who gives what he cannot
keep to gain what he cannot lose."
