| Christ in us, the hope
of glory. Our destiny to serve others was set
by God in the beginning.
". . . the Counselor, the
Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things
and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with
you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not
let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

WHAT IS

Fruit
is everything. Even at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, John the
Baptist spoke of it. At the end of Jesus' ministry he talked about
evidence being all important. The branches that produce no fruit
will be cut down, John said. Jesus later said those who gave water,
food, kindness to people in need would be ushered into the Kingdom.
Our Actions grow out of who we are. And we are judged on who
we are, not what we proclaim.
I believe the kind of fruit that matters in heaven is an action that expresses godly love. God expects us to portray his loving kindness to others. Action grows out of what is in one's heart. For my own sake, it is important to know if my heart is full of God's love or just slightly infected by it. The evidence of my love or the lack thereof is crucial to me. How else I can correct my course. When Christ's spirit resides in one's heart there is a dynamic potential -- compassion seeking a target. The servant of Christ not in an anxious way, but in peace and patience, is watchful for someone who needs His love. By the Spirit he, or she, knows when to take action, and how to do it. |
