An important element of the Good News is the abundant life that Christ promised.  He  not only said he
gives life, he said, "I am the Life."   Yet when we look at the Bible there is no indication that Christ had the trappings of the abundant life.  He walked, while the rich road donkeys, or horses.   He said he had “no place to lay his head.”  So he had no home of his own.

It's a mystery. Something that earthbound people have a hard time with.  Christ's abundance might include earthly riches, but it is not limited to such material prosperity. In Him we have a life more abundant than just houses, cars, clothes and the like.  Christ's concept of abundance can only be understood in  heavenly terms.  By the Spirit we can see it's meaning.

It becomes clearer when we mix Servanthood in with the concept of abundance.  These two might seem mutually exclusive, but they are not.  As we serve one another we demonstrate the kind of heavenly abundance Christ promises.  Our lives ARE ABUNDANCE.  We are enabled to love.  We cannot consider our abundance as something we hold onto.   We are not a reservoir, but part of a stream of the living water.  In the same way we want to share the good news we also give of our material resources.

Those around us who suffer physical lack are ripe to hear the message of Christ's abundant life.  At the same time we need to demonstrate His Life by sharing whatever financial abundance God has given us.  We reap a higher abundance when we give away the things of this world.  To hold onto them reduces the abundance that Christ offers.

The angels in heaven rejoice when they see one of God's people saying, "A ha, so this is what it means to be a Christian."

ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO CONFIRM THIS MESSAGE. IT IS ONLY BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD IN US THAT WE CAN CUT THROUGH  OUR EARTHLY BEARERS TO HEAVENLY WISDOM..
