TO LOVE OTHERS AS GOD DOES.

Christ's
death and resurrection has enabled us to love others as He loved us. The
old self has been renewed. Our new eternal nature reflects God's clarity
and light to a confused and dark world. We are the light of the world
now.
If you could only use one word to describe the New Testament message, what would it be. A surprising choice, but one that is most apropos is OTHERS. Christ's salvation gives us eternal life. We do not have to worry about our lives anymore. Now we can serve OTHERS. Salvation which might be the word some would choose is obviously our greatest gift from God, but it is a means to an end. It gives us a new foundation on the rock. Salvation opens the way for us to take on godly characteristics. Now we can fulfill our earthly destiny of "helping other people." as God would have us do it. Christ is the man for others, so are we. Today, somewhere, there is an other who God would direct you to. His Spirit in you will show you who and how to serve. "We who are strong
ought bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each
of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up."
Once we leave these earthly bodies, our future will be richer because we fulfilled God's desires by serving our neighbors—we loved them as Christ loved us. We are indeed a most blessed people. |
