Christ
prayed for the unity of His people. He desires that we are one with
the Father as He and the Father are One.
That prayer still has not fully been answered.
But it is a powerful thing when we do present a solid front to a hurting
world. How sweet it is when Baptists, Catholics, Methodists,
Presbyterians, Lutherans, Disciples of Christ and the various Pentecostal
faiths show Christ's love.
Love is our I.D. It sets us
apart as people of God. People know we are on Christ's side
as we love others as He did. Relying on Him to perfect us increases
our credibility. Proclaiming our doctrine as being better
than the church down the street, or bragging about our programs is less important than portraying Christ's love by the pastor and his parishioners.
