"May they be brought
to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved
them even as you have loved me. "
A Cooperative Way To Meet Human
Needs
In His Name
Ministries, working with churches and
with the poor since 1983, is concerned about the growing number of people
whose legitimate needs are going unmet. Since 1996, the IHNM web site has
offered Christians details of client needs. There has
been a steady growth of response.
Help For
Those Who Contact Your Church For Aid
Send us a
story of someone you know who needs help. Look at an example on the
web --

http://www.inhisname.org/8642jan.html
We will make a web page from the story you email to us featuring
your
"client." Web
viewers who come to the web site can read details, and see updates about
your "client."
Funds received for this person will go toward her need.
We ask that you make our web site address known to your
congregation. In His Name will underwrite the maintenance costs,
update client information, post notices of donations, send receipts to
donors and make payments on client's utilities or other household needs.
This will broaden your means of help for an individual who has contacted
your church for assistance.
How This Works
An Example: A member of a United Presbyterian church, another
from a Church of the Nazarene, and even a person from a church in distant
city may respond to the need which was first known only to your church.
You had selected an individual from among those coming to your church for
aid. A story was written (up to 200 words) and emailed to IHNM.
That same day (in most cases), the story is published on the World
Wide Web. The actual client name is not used in the web story. We
assign a case number. A donor refers to this number on his, or her
check.
We have
often been surprised form whence help comes. Aid for Oklahoma City
client needs has come from individuals in Georgia, California, Michigan,
Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, and New Mexico.
